Honey Skin, a New Korean Skin Care Trend

Honey Skin, a New Korean Skin Care Trend

9th Feb 2018

Our readers and customers, send us frequently questions about skin care. How to use the products, what treatments and rituals are suitable for their skin type.

However, there is also an increasing number of questions around all those buzzy words which can be read or heard more and more. This prompted me to write a series of blog about Korean skin trends.

The beauty of Korean skincare is it has so much to offer. Every time I read about it, talk to professionals in Seoul and even women leaving in South Korea or in Europe who follow the latest news, I have a chance to explore more about yet another treatment, product or a skin trend.

There are plenty of buzzy words that require explanation, testing and further exploration. So let’s start with the most popular buzzword in Korea… Honey skin!

Honey skin

I believe it is perfect time to mention honey skin during our journey to tackle February’s skin concern: dryness and dehydration.

Honey skin is an expression used to describe a healthy-looking skin which is hydrated and nourished. It gives an incredible healthy glow.

To achieve honey skin, we suggest focusing on hydration by layering brightening and hydrating skincare products. With the right products selected accordingly to the skin type, the honey skin can be achieved by anyone.

Rules

Here are some rules to follow and product inspirations:

Rule #1

Take care of your skin during cleansing. Use double cleansing to ensure your skin is free from makeup and impurities without stripping it out from all healthy, natural oils on your face.

Rule #2

Exfoliate twice a week to keep your skin smooth and improve dead skin circulation.

Rule #3

It is all about hydration, hydration, hydration. Use hydrating, balancing toner immediately after cleansing. This will provide the first dose of hydration.

Rule #4

Hydrating and nourishing serum or ampoules will be an amazing treat for your skin. Even acne prone skin can achieve a divine glow and balanced skin. Check Dr G R.E.D. Blemishes Soothing Ampoule.

Rule #5

Add a dose of nourishment through facial oils like Blossom Jeju 100% Camellia Seed Dry Oil or a lighter version of Blossom Jeju Camellia Soombi Essence Oil which contains natural brightening properties.

Rule #6

Dry skin will need an ultra-rich cream which will be absorbed quickly and can be used for even acne prone skin. A beauty product like COSRX Full Fit Propolis Creamwill brighten the skin and nourish it. Nothing sounds better than honey skin supported by honey products!

Rule #7

At night your skin recovers. Providing it with extra emollients and humectants during your night routine will have a significant impact on your skin’s condition next morning and in long-term on how fast your skin will age. Use a sleeping mask.

Enjoy your journey in achieving honey skin.
