Interview with Frudia on Creating Happiness Through Beauty

Frudia is an amazing brand that we wanted to launch the second we tried their lip balms. As we were working on this post, we were reliving our amazing memories from Hong Kong. Yes, we met with Frudia Team for the first time at Cosmoprof trade exhibition in Hong Kong. This was the last long haul trip before the times of COVID-19 and the lockdown. Here is your inside information and story of Frudia.

History of Frudia

Karolina: How long has it been since you started the company and launched the brand?

Frudia Team: Our company has been founded 34 years ago. Originally it was named Kwailnara which means fruit land in Korean. We created the Frudia brand 4 years ago. We made this masterpiece using our know-how and experience that we’ve gathered over the years.

Karolina: Sounds amazing. What is the philosophy of the brand?

Frudia Team: The philosophy is based on the purity of the cosmetics. Our slogan is “The Company Creating Happiness through Beauty”. We studied how to create an ideal beauty that customers dream of. Thanks to this we have developed eco-friendly cosmetics that consumers can easily access. We are extremely happy that we have been recognized for the high level of awareness and product purity.

Karolina: Tell us more about this concept?

Frudia Team: Sure. The concept “derived from fruit” is our key philosophy.

We discovered that the wisdom of true beauty is in fruits. These are naturally occurring antioxidants. Protecting seeds and nurturing new life, fruits are a rich source of nutrients. For example, they protect the beauty of flowers as they bloom. After 30 years of research performed by scientists, we have now found a way to make your skin nourished and glowing.


Karolina: This is a beautiful concept. What is the most important feature of your cosmetics?

Frudia Team: Let us explain this question in 3 parts:

1) R VITA W technology– In order to deliver true fruit’s nutrition to the skin, we use R vita W technology. In the extremely fast-paced society and modern life, Frudia is slowing things down to help people relax and nourish their skin with pure fruit extract.

2) Certified Clinical Study– Frudia is a natural and eco-friendly brand. Each line has special functions and is proven and tested by a certified clinical study.

3) Award-Winning Design- Nowadays, the packaging is one of the main factors in purchase decision making. We designed the packaging of each product so it looks like a cute honey jar.

Karolina: Let’s talk about skin concerns. What is the biggest skin concern nowadays?

Frudia Team: We do not think there is such a thing as ‘the biggest skin concern’. Everything is complex, different and unique for everyone. Hence, the most important thing is to find a product suitable for your skin type, age, and skin condition.


Karolina: How do your cosmetics address this matter?

Frudia Team: Nowadays, consumers are more inquisitive and want to understand which ingredients are contained in skincare products, what do they offer and which skin concerns they address. They wish to make an informed decision.

Hence, we are focusing on very good quality ingredients. We also do not use harmful ingredients. This means our products do not contain paraben, silicone, mineral oil, sulfate, benzophenone or pigments. In addition, we offer five different skincare lines that have different properties. These will provide your skin with intensive care. You may also mix the products from different lines in order to receive the most effective routine and desired results.

Karolina: in this case, how long does it usually take to see the results and benefits of the cosmetics?

Frudia Team: It normally takes 1~2 months to see the results. However, it may differ depending on each person and the effects may vary from person to person.

Karolina: Let’s move forward and talk a little bit about the future. What are your plans for the next 3-5 years?

Frudia Team: Our goal is to connect with our customers and provide them with great products. We designed Frudia cosmetics for the late teens to early 30’s generation. In order to get closer to our customers, we are using online platforms. In addition, we are trying to respond to extremely diverse customers’ needs. We value all direct and indirect communication with our customers. We do this to create an amazing experience and unique products.


Furthermore, we are trying to grow diversity and promote a healthy lifestyle.

Karolina: What impact will it have on your brand?

Frudia Team: Now we have approximately a hundred of products under the Frudia brand. However, we will continuously keep doing our best to meet customers’ needs.

New products to expect

Karolina: What are the new products we can expect? What will be their purpose?

Frudia Team: Without disclosing too many details, our new products will be focusing on hypoallergenic and soothing ingredients. They will continue to be cruelty-free & vegan friendly.

Karolina: How do you want customers to remember your brand?

Frudia Team: Going back to nature and reconnecting with it is the best way to heal your skin trouble. Why don’t you take care of your skin using fruits and their extracts? Our cosmetics are always here to heal, nurture and protect the skin.

About skincare and trends

Karolina: Let’s have a short chat now about trends and skincare tips. In your opinion, are Asian skincare lines “best” suited for Asian skin only?

Frudia Team: No, they aren’t. However, the reason why this misjudgment appears is that most Asians have healthy skin. We put a lot of interest and effort to take care of their skin. No one thinks that fruits are just good only for Asian, do they? So we can say, Asian skincare lines are formulated for everybody.

Karolina: What are the ingredients you would recommend incorporating to everyday skin routine?

Frudia Team: Currently ‘Cosmeceutical’ is the most popular trend in South Korea. Many people are interested in certain ingredients that have specific properties. We highly recommend hyaluronic acid, propolis, ceramide, etc. They are already well-known ingredients to customers. Furthermore, we see a steadily increasing interest regarding slightly acidic products.

Skincare tips

Karolina: What are two skincare must-have products everyone should have in their everyday skin care?

Frudia Team: In our opinion foam cleanser and facial cream is a must. Washing your face with cleansers is as important as boosting moisture.

Karolina: Final question. If you were asked to give one advice on skincare, what would it be?

Frudia Team: Don’t be lazy. Sooner or later you will understand how meaningful it is to invest in and take care of your skin. All your effort will be rewarded!
