Story of Purito cosmetics
Karolina: Hailey, thank you for taking the time to answer a few questions. How long has it been since you started the company and launched Purito?
Hailey: The company was created in 2017.
Karolina: What were your reasons and philosophy on launching your cosmetics?
Hailey: Over the past 5 years, there were some issues with the ingredients of Korean beauty products in comparison to European or American products.
There was too much cost for commodities such as packages, product labels which are already included in the prices. So rather than using fancy packages and product labels, we wanted to offer our products at an affordable price with basic but essential ingredients, that everybody can use.

Karolina: What is the most important feature of your cosmetics?
Hailey: The key point is Vegan-friendly & Cruelty-free skincare.
Also, our motto is Clean & Honest ingredients for all skin types including sensitive skin.
Karolina: In this case, how does your brand differ from Western brands?
Hailey: There are three main areas we look at:
1) Innovative formula. For example, as for the sunscreen, most Western brands’ sunscreens generally tend to give a white cast and have a sticky feeling and formulated with lots of irritants. However, we focus on a comfortable texture to be used daily and gentle ingredients for sensitive skin.
2) Reasonable price.
3) Be communicative with customers through interactive yet fast feedback.
Purito vs skin concerns
Karolina: In your opinion, what is the biggest skin concern nowadays?
Karolina: How do your cosmetics tackle this issue?
Hailey: In order to repair the damaged skin barrier, the skin should rest from overusing active ingredients and avoid irritating ingredients. Also, it requires moisture and sun protector. PURITO’s mainline is the “Centella Green Level” line; Toner, Pad, Serum, Cream, Eye Cream, and Sunscreen. All the products are formulated with soothing, mild ingredients and natural humectants to strengthen the skin barrier.
Future of Purito
Karolina: What are your plans for the next 3-5 years?
Hailey: Our focus is on improving skin conditions, such as enhancing and reinforcing skin barrier with proven ingredients. Even if we will be compared to other brands and might be lagged behind in the market, we are going to take a stance regardless just like we started, carry on our business on our foundation of ‘focus on basics’ caring about nature and live with animals with a harmony, etc.
Karolina: Now one of the most interesting questions we also love to ask. What are the new products we can expect? What will be their purpose?
Hailey: Cleansing Foam & Unscented line (Mild ingredients for sensitive skin).
Karolina: How do you want customers to remember your brand?
Hailey: We want our brand to be a place, out of excess active ingredients used and of being a suggestive skincare brand, but for the skin to rest, emphasizing one’s inner beauty rather than superficial appearances.
