What’s the difference between dry and dehydrated skin?
Dry skin is a skin type that suffers from decreased oil production. The complexion lacks natural oils, lipids and it experiences flaky and dry appearance. The skin is irritated and red and this condition may progress into psoriasis, eczema, or dermatitis.
Dehydrated skin is a skin concern. Anyone can experience dehydrated skin even those with an oily skin type. This skin condition is more common during the winter months.
Why does it matter?
Dehydrated skin and dry skin need different treatments. This means some of the ingredients can be used on both: dry and dehydrated skin. Other ingredients will be much more effective addressing one of the conditions specifically: dryness or dehydration.
