Colder weather can make your skincare rituals tricky. Sometimes it is hard to keep the skin hydrated and balanced. This means we start experimenting with products that first overfeed our skin and then we dry it out again when it starts breaking out. So how to sort out skin regimen for the current weather? Here are our suggestions on how to keep your skin happy.
Each skin type will need some tweaks and small changes, but these tips can be applied to all skin types. It is worth starting now to avoid dry patches!
Gentle cleansing routine
During colder days your skin will be exposed to a number of stressors. Less daylight, cold wind, and hot dry air generated by central heating indoors are just a few factors to take into account. We have to also add the most recent challenges such maskne. All of these reconfirm your skin routine should be gentle on your skin. Start with gentle on the skin double-cleansing.

Especially during autumn and winter, it is all about hydration, hydration, hydration
Skin is the largest organ of your body and like your entire body, your complexion will be looking for a balance. During winter skin is becoming dry or dehydrated.
That is why you need to focus on hydration. You can maximise the level of hydration in your skin by layering the products. During colder months, your skin will act like a sponge and will be soaking humectants. Search for a high dose of hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or aloe vera.

Time to switch to serums and oils
Any skin type is going through a lot during colder months. Sensitive skin can easily become red, acne-prone. Our go-to-products are serums that focus on calming and soothing skin. Among of those are propolis, Centella Asiatica, beta-glucan or niacinamide.
Recommended products: Beauty of Joseon Repair Serum, Kosmetic Immunity by JKosmmune Recovery Serum, COSRX Full Fit Propolis Light Ampoule
It is also worth adding a facial oil to your autumn/ winter skin routine. Oils not only hydrate skin, but they also help lock that hydration in. Even oily skin types will enjoy it. Why? If oily skin gets irritated and dehydrated it starts overproducing sebum. This may result in congested pores and breakouts. This means that facial oils can actually save your oily skin and lock hydration. Use a facial oil 1-3 times a week depending on your skin condition.
Our recommendations: Urang oils will be your go to solution.
Switch to an intensive moisturiser
A moisturiser will create a protective barrier on top your skin. It will hydrate the skin and also lock ingredients from previous skincare products toner, essence, serum or oil.
Recommended products: Lagom Cellus Deep Moisture Cream, Real Barrier Extreme Cream for very dry and sensitised skin, JKosmmune Ceramide cream will be great for combination to oily skin, Urang Rose Ceramide Cream.
Take advantage of the regenerative power of sleep
Overnight your body heals and regenerates itself. You can support this process on those rougher nights when you do not get enough sleep. Apply a sleeping mask on your face as the last step in your skincare routine instead of a moisturizer and wash it off in the morning.
What about your lips? We recommend exfoliating lips with a sugar scrub 2 or 3 times a week and using an intensive lip balm such as Frudia or Urang S.O.S. Multi Balm.
