What do facial oils do to your skin?

The power of oils is incredible. At some point, you might have noticed that the skin which is stripped of natural oils caused by over-washing, over-exfoliation or other external factors, starts producing more oil to compensate for the dryness. This results in clogged pores and acne. Therefore, facial oils can play a role of SOS product. If you got carried away with cleansers or exfoliators, facial oils will compensate immediately lack of moisture in the skin.

Do you have maturing skin? If yes, you want to add facial oils to your skin routine. They will support it and make it look younger. On top of that, they will protect the skin from drying out by preventing water loss. The facial oils will keep it plump.

External factors are constantly attacking your skin and compromise your skin barrier all year round. Whether it is the sun, dry or cold wind, central heat, and pollution are just a few elements that we may be exposed to on a daily basis. Facial oil can be amazing for sensitive skin. Facial oil correctly selected for your skin can calm irritation, hydrate and nourish your skin.

For those with oily or combination skin, facial oils can be very beneficial as well. An oil cleanser helps to wash oily and combination skin without stripping it from natural oils. The same way facial oils, used wisely, will promote balanced and hydrated skin which will be less prone to acne and breakouts. Remember to use 1-2 drops of facial oil every few days to keep the skin balanced without overfeeding it.

Golden rule: don’t overuse them

No matter what skin type you have, the most important rule when using facial oils is to not overuse them. Hence, observe your skin before you apply the facial oil. When you start using the facial oil we suggest using 1-2 drops of facial oil on your face every few days. Facial oils do not have to be used daily. As they act the same way as your natural oil production, if overused they can clog pores and create breakouts. If they are used too frequently on the dry skin they “discourage” the skin to produce the moisture naturally. If you stop using them in this situation, your skin may experience immediate dryness. Like with everything, balance is a key.
